REVIEW PROCESS

All the manuscripts received by the editors undergo a double-blind peer review process, in order to assess quality of scientific information, relevance to the field, appropriateness of scientific writing style, compliance with the style and technical requirements of our journal, etc.

The reviewers are experts in the field.

Steps:

1. Submission of the paper

The first or corresponding author submits the paper to the journal by email.

2. Assessment of the paper by the editorial board

The editorial board checks the paper’s structure against the journal’s Author Guidelines to make sure it includes the required sections and stylizations, without assessing the scientific quality of the paper.

3. Appraisal by the Editor-in-Chief

The Editor-in-Chief checks that the paper is appropriate for the journal and is sufficiently original and interesting. If the paper is considered not to be adequate for the journal, it may be rejected without undergoing the reviewing process.

4. Invitation to Reviewers

The editor sends invitations to the persons s/he believes would be appropriate reviewers.

5. Review is Conducted

The reviewers assess the paper, commenting and making recommendations. This process leads either to the acceptation, recommendation for revision (major or minor), or rejection of the assessed paper (if major problems are found).

6. Evaluation of the Reviews

The editor analysis all the returned reviews before making an overall decision. If the reviews differ widely, the editor may invite an additional reviewer so as to get an extra opinion before making a decision.

7. Communication of the decision

The editor sends a decision email to the author including any relevant reviewer comments to help the author improve the paper.

8. Revision of the paper

If the paper is sent back for either major or minor revision, the author/s should send back the paper respecting the suggested deadline. Besides the manuscript, the author/s should also send the response letter which includes a summary of the changes made and a brief response to all recommendations.
